Asdru grew up in central Mexico, trained in permaculture in Bali, and spent years sitting with the wisdom keepers of Mexico, South America, and beyond. Maja journeyed through Asia and the Americas, following healing traditions and the wisdom of plants wherever she was called.
They met in Mexico, fell in love with this particular piece of jungle, and spent the years since growing Casa Arkaana from raw land into a living sanctuary.

Our open architecture follows bio-climatic design principles — cross-ventilation, elevated ceilings, and a 5-acre jungle canopy that acts as a natural cooling system. Guests consistently report being surprised by how comfortable it is. As one facilitator told us: "There's no reason to come to the jungle and get disconnected again in your room because of AC." The breeze through the Maloka at night is one of the most memorable parts of the experience.
Absolutely. All 56 of our Google reviews are five stars, and the most common word guests use is "family." Casa Arkaana is run by Maja, Asdru, and their daughter Mila — we're not staff, we're family. Solo women make up a large portion of our guests and many return multiple times.
Casa Arkaana is a 90-minute drive from Cancún International Airport and just 20 minutes from Tulum. We can arrange private transfer service for you or your group. The drive south along the coast is beautiful — and the moment you turn off the highway into the jungle, you feel the shift.
