The Reality

Bringing a retreat to life takes more than most people see.

01

Getting the word out is its own discipline. Marketing doesn't always come naturally to those whose gift is holding space — and even when it does, filling a retreat takes more than a beautiful post.

02

The logistics multiply quickly. Airport transfers, cenote visits, beach days, local excursions — coordinating the journey of a group in an unfamiliar country is a full-time job on top of the full-time job you already have.

03

Many venues are set up for volume. Communication travels through coordinators. Requests meet templated responses. There's little room for nuance, and even less for the kind of direct conversation that actually solves things.

04

When everything runs through management, something human gets lost. The relationship that was supposed to feel like a partnership starts to feel like a transaction.

05

By the time your participants land, you've already been running for weeks. The retreat hasn't started — and you're already at your edge.

That's why we built something different.

We know this road

You bring the work. We hold everything else.

We're not just your hosts — we're facilitators ourselves. We've sat on both sides of this: the marketing, the planning calls, the logistics, the 2am messages, the moments that test everyone in the group including you. Four years, forty retreats. We know what it takes because we've lived it.

One group at a time. Five acres of jungle, every ceremony space, every room — entirely yours.

The Temple at Casa Arkaana — ceremony circle with meditation mats

The Temple

Before it was built, it was blessed. A Vedic fire ceremony with Ganesha marked the ground. Quartz runs through the floors and walls — not as decoration, but as intention. Facilitators who've held ceremony here tend to come back. Some call it the most powerful container on the Riviera Maya. We just call it home.

Food as medicine at Casa Arkaana

Food as Medicine

We believe what you eat shapes what you can hold. Every meal is made from fresh, carefully selected ingredients — organic wherever possible, locally sourced wherever we can. Our food forest is growing — fruit trees, citrus, banana, papaya, mango — and we draw from it as it gives. Tell us what your group needs and we'll design the menu around it.

Marketing partnership support

Marketing Partnership

When you book with us, we become part of your promotional team — listing your retreat on our website, sharing it across our Instagram community, and sending it to our database of past guests and seekers. We also provide a professional media kit with drone footage and property imagery for your own channels. Tell us where you are in your process and we'll find the right way to support you.

Maja and Asdru, founders of Casa Arkaana

Close, Not Constant

Maja or Asdru will find you each day — sometimes at the morning table, sometimes at dusk, sometimes when the ceremony calls for a familiar face. Not managing, not monitoring. Just present in the way that people who care about a place tend to be.

Logistics and transfer services

Logistics & Transfer

Coordinating transport for a group in an unfamiliar country is its own full-time job. We've done it enough times to have the right contacts. Airport transfers, cenote and beach excursions, ceremony supply sourcing, car rental referrals — we point you in the right direction or coordinate it directly. And for those who need it, we issue correct Mexican tax receipts. One less thing to figure out.

Exclusivity

One of the first things facilitators ask us: do we have the whole property to ourselves? The answer is always yes. One group at a time — no shared spaces, no overlapping energies, no strangers crossing through your ceremony. The container stays clean from arrival to departure. Deep work needs that. Your participants deserve it.

The Container

The space amplifies the work.

Before the first stone was placed, we built a small house for the Aluxes — the guardians of this jungle in Mayan tradition — and asked their permission. What stands here now stands on that agreement.

Five acres of living land: cenote water rising from deep below, spider monkeys in the canopy, bats at dusk, birds and insects whose sounds don't stop when the ceremony does. The pool, the temazcal, the temple, the fire circle — each one placed where the land said to place it. Every footstep leaves a mark. We've tried to make each one worthy.

Programme Add-Ons

You bring the core.
We source the rest.

Many powerful retreats are built in layers — your core work at the centre, supported by practices that deepen, open, or close what you're holding. We've built relationships with trusted local practitioners so you don't have to.

  • Your programme becomes more complete — without more to manage
  • Local practitioners, already vetted and familiar with the container
  • We coordinate — you stay focused on the work
  • One modality or a full supporting programme — your choice

We believe healing should be accessible.

Retreats have become an industry. And with that came a price that quietly excludes most people. Over the years we've sat with teachers — Shipibo curanderos, Red Path elders — who spend their lives in deep service. They live simply. They do what they do because it's their vocation, not their livelihood. We don't carry their lineage. But we carry their inspiration.

We price Casa Arkaana to sustain the land, the team, and the work — and toward something larger. To support the communities around us. To share what we've learned about living sustainably. To one day be a place where people pass through, learn something real, and take it home. None of that is possible without a fair exchange. That's what your investment here makes possible.

"I have visited Casa Arkaana many times, facilitating three women's shamanic retreats here. Each time I visit, the centre evolves and I always feel at home — held by the jungle, the nature and the land that welcomes you with open arms. The energy of the Temple is especially powerful."

"The beauty of this secluded area is that we really got to drop into the heart space of the jungle which allowed us to drop into our own heart spaces. The energy of the land they are located on is powerful, sacred and healing."
