The Container

"Part of the healing comes through feeling the fresh air — the jungle air."

Casa Arkaana is not a hotel. It is a living sanctuary — off the grid, powered entirely by the sun, nourished by its own well. There is no air conditioning. The windows stay open. The jungle comes in.

At night you hear the crickets, the bats, the owls. In the morning, birdsong before any alarm. The space itself begins to regulate your nervous system before the first session starts.

Maja and Asdru built this place to serve exactly one purpose: to hold people in deep transformation. Every space, every meal, every detail was designed with that intention.

What Is Here for You

Everything your nervous system
has been asking for.

The Temple
Ceremony · Movement · Sharing

The Temple

An octagonal temple woven from the jungle itself — open to the breeze, sealed from the creatures by fine mosquito netting. Where breath, movement, and stillness meet.

Cenote Pool
Sacred Waters

Cenote Pool

Waters that rise from cenotes deep beneath the land — sacred to the Maya for millennia. Cool, mineral-rich, and alive in a way no ordinary pool can be.

Flower Bath
Blessing · Cleansing · Protection

Flower Bath

Petals, jungle flowers, herbs, prayer, and presence. A sacred cleansing ritual used for protection — to wash away what no longer serves and restore what does.

Sound Healing
Vibration · Integration

Sound Healing

Singing bowls, ceremonial instruments, and the living sounds of the jungle itself. A vibration that reaches where words cannot — deep rest for the nervous system.

Food as Medicine
Nourishment

Food as Medicine

Every meal prepared with love — sourced from local producers, from the land when the seasons allow, and always plant-forward, alive, and full of intention.

The Jungle
The Container

The Jungle

Five acres of old-growth Mayan jungle — untouched, ancient, and generous. The land itself is part of the healing, working alongside every session, every ceremony, every silence.

You Are Safe Here

This is someone's home.
And you are welcome in it.

A family home, not a managed property

Casa Arkaana is where Mila was born and is growing up. We treat every corner of this land the way you treat your own home — with love, intention, and care in every detail. A member of our family is here every day when a retreat is in session.

Safe for solo travelers

Many guests come alone — especially women. The atmosphere here is that of a family home: warm, grounded, and deeply intentional about who enters the space. You can let your guard down without feeling exposed.

Intimate group sizes

No more than 26 participants per retreat. A size where you're seen, not lost — intimate enough for real connection, spacious enough to find your own rhythm. The container creates the depth that large retreats cannot.

Experienced, conscious hosting

We've hosted hundreds of participants over the years. We've learned to read when someone is going through a process or quietly needs support — and how to be present without being intrusive, always respecting the facilitator's space.

"Spending 3.5 months at Casa Arkaana was one of the most transformative and beautiful periods of my life, which will stay in my heart forever. Falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle, or the 'voice of the night' was magical."

"I wouldn't be exaggerating to say it was one of the best experiences of my life. The setting is beautiful — Blue Morpho butterflies in the Caribbean jungle. From the moment I arrived, Asdru and Maja made me feel so much at home."

Questions We Hear

Before you arrive.

Is it very hot without air conditioning?

The structures are designed for the tropics — cross-ventilation, elevated ceilings, and a 5-acre jungle canopy that acts as a natural cooling system. Inside is always cooler than outside. At night, the jungle drops to genuinely cool temperatures that most guests don't expect.

Is it safe for solo female travellers?

Absolutely. Casa Arkaana is a family home first — warm, protective, and deeply intentional about who enters the space. Many of our guests are women travelling alone, and they consistently describe feeling held, not watched. You are in the care of a family, not a company.

How do I get there from the airport?

90 minutes from Cancún, 60 minutes from Tulum — both airports with international connections. We're easy to reach, yet deep enough in the jungle that the shift begins the moment you turn off the highway. We can arrange your transfer so you don't have to think about it.

Is there WiFi?

Yes — strong Starlink connection throughout the property, super reliable for video calls and email. We encourage you to step away from social media while you're here, but we know that being able to handle what matters back home is what makes a full week in the jungle possible.

What should I bring?

Light, breathable clothing. Reef-safe sunscreen. A journal. Insect repellent (or use our copal). An open mind.

Are there insects?

You're immersed in a living ecosystem. We use copal every evening — a traditional Mayan resin that's a natural repellent and a beautiful ritual.

Can I come outside of scheduled retreats?

Yes — depending on the season and availability, we welcome guests beyond our scheduled retreat calendar. Reach out with your dates and what you're looking for, and we'll see what we can weave together.
